T-shirts

I have produced several shirts using an ink-jet printer and iron-on transfers.
I would like people to buy the shirts off of other people if they like or identify with the message.
The shirts should be sold for a minimum of $5.00 to cover the material costs.
If someone wants to buy the shirt from you please let them. You choose the price. You
could always buy it back from them. Try to get a picture of yourself in the shirt and I will post it here.

I Am Afraid of Mexicans - Dying in the Desert
Digital Illustration and T-shirt, worn as a performance.

Tucson is a border town, but people don’t like to think about it. I want people to be very concerned about the deaths in the desert. These deaths are caused by fear. Fear of illegals taking “our” jobs, using up “our” resources. And many other fears that are leading to hundreds of people dying every year. To help bring attention to the weirdness of this fear I have used the stereotypical sexy pinup Chicana. Her brother is the Mexican Bandito. The men of the other are always the lowly villain and the women hyper sexualized. This is considered a safe general operating philosophy for the unknown.

I like how T-shirts act as a proclamation of personal belief and loyalty to brands or philosophical positions. I also like the idea that we wear our fears and biases on our shirt sleeves exposed to others.

The pinup is adapted from a Gil Elvgren pinup.
