Be A Witness
The Finish Line
Look for my family in "Knit & Run" t-shirts at the finish line near E. Pershing and Grand Boulevard to gather as a group. I estimate that I will cross the finish line with the pace group between 12:45 and 1:00. Be there to cheer, lend a hand, or gawk at awesome long scarfness.
My Official Witnesses
I am very fortunate to have several professionals in their fields to act as witnesses. Special thanks to them. Please visit their businesses.
- Knitting Professional, Cindy Craig of Studio Knitting and Needlepoint in Kansas City, MO.
- Knitting Professional, Traci Bunkers of Bonkers Handmade Originals in Lawrence, KS
- Measurement Specialist, Jim Josten of Josten Precision Measurement in Pleasant Hill, MO.
Submit a Witness Statement
If you see me on the run send me an email detailing when, where, and what you saw. I can use the information in support of my record claim submission materials. Huge bonus for mailing a hand-signed note.
Running Partners/Witnesses Needed
You can be there! I am specifically looking for individuals interested in running with me. The record attempt requires witnesses present for the whole attempt who can make written statements validating the record. Persons of credibility in their community would be a huge asset. So consider this a call to run a marathon. Ideally you have run a marathon before and are able to run the marathon in 5 hours 45 minutes. I am planning on running with an official pace team to ensure the time. This would mean running just under a 12 minute mile. If you can comfortably run a 10 minute mile, or 6mph, you could do it.Join the Kansas City Marathon, Oct. 19th, 2013
I would love to know about people that can be at the race to cheer for me personally, Alzheimer's Research, Crazy Knitting, or simply marathon endurance.
